We spend our first full day on Mojácar beach arriving early to secure sun beds sheltered from the blistering heat and dazzling sunshine by delightful straw fringed umbrellas.
After a two hour flight pinned to our seats we arrive at Alicante airport. It’s ten in the morning and a blissful 27 degrees.
The first time Maiya and I went away together was to Amsterdam in February 2020 with the intention of regular annual mini breaks. However the trip was literally moments before all our lives changed with lockdown.
So my Granddaughter Maiya and I are off for a long weekend visit to Spain to see my Sister Margaret and her husband Edd who recently moved to a new home in Turre near Almeria which is currently experiencing a heatwave.
Beaches, waterfalls, a boat trip and a Sunday School lime are some of the delightful gems that make Tobago a very special place.
Tobago is truly beautiful and so different to Trinidad, calmer more sanitised, manicured and touristy with the rough edges smoothed out.
Today is our final day of our fabulous Trinidad experience before we jet off to Tobago for the last few days of our adventure.
Carnival Tuesday is the main day for Trinidad’s big event as fabulous costume bands parade through Port of Spain and the Savannah.
