Flamenco Sunset

My lovely Sister organises a surprise outing to the hillside Pueblo in Mojácar for a live Flamenco show, shopping and sunset drinks

The weather here in Spain is unbelievable attracting an abundance of retiring Brits and tourists to the heat, the culture, and the lifestyle.

Although in some ways Mags and Edd epitomise ex pats they speak fluent Spanish shunning the embarrassing fish and chips Brits and embracing the local culture.

They dwell in a haven of blissful perfection close enough to the sea but away from the high season tourist melee.

It is an honour for Maiya and I to witness their relationship their closeness and enduring love after more than forty years together.

And in turn they are inspired by Maiya’s youthful presence, her desire to spend time with them and learn more about mine and my sister’s upbringing and her Trinidadian ancestry.

The Flamenco show is a breathtaking display of traditional Spanish guitar and vocal virtuosity with a dynamic dancer who flounces and twirls to our joy and delight.

Afterwards we take in the sunset from the pueblo hillside vantage point joining the camera wielding throng eager to capture the perfect sunset silhouette.
